The Port Aransas Boatmen (PABA) are excited to announce they will again host the Deep Sea Roundup (DSR). Hurricane Harvey roared into the Coastal Bend and has left its mark on Port Aransas but with volunteer help and community fishing spirt the PABA will hold the 2018 83rd Deep Sea Roundup. The Deep Sea Roundup is the oldest fishing tournament on the Gulf Coast. Because of Hurricane Harvey, there will be some modifications to the tournament for this year. Registration day will be Thursday July 12th. The Fishing Day and Piggy Perch contest will be on Friday and Saturday July 13th & 14th. Awards and the Bill Horn Fish Fry will be on Sunday July 15. Advance Registration has commenced. The fish categories will remain the same following the Texas and Federal fishing guidelines. Mark your calendars now to attend, support the community spirit and fish in the tournament. The 34th annual Coastal Conservation Association’s (CCA) Take-a-Kid-Fishing Tournament is set for Friday, June 2 - Saturday, June 3. Registration is Friday, June 2, and fishing and awards will be Saturday, June 3. Kids through age 16 can fish for fun and prizes in a tournament designed to teach them the skill and pleasure of fishing. Awards are presented at Woody’s Sports Center. Contestants are reminded to come to the awards presentation whether they caught any fish or not, because everyone wins something in this tournament.
